Signature Dry Gin.

  • Our journey with gin started as a passion project. Terrifying as it was, we left our steady corporate jobs without a plan and embarked on a life-changing trip to the UK, creating our first bottle of gin, fittingly named “VIRGIN”. Upon returning home, we hid our bottle among other delicious gins in blind tastings with family and friends and to our surprise, VIRGIN was frequently the crowd favorite.

As with all epic adventures, we decided to take a shot of gin and dove headfirst into the unknown, starting our quest to establish Hong Kong’s first gin distillery and learn every we needed to know about making spirits. Way outside our comfort zone, our arduous 2.5 year journey resulted in the birth of Two Moons and VIRGIN became what is now known as our award-winning Signature Dry Gin!

  • This flavor is all about embracing adventure, even when the challenge ahead is dauntingly scary.

Our journey in creating this bottle was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, but we savored every moment of it, even the bumpy bits and now, our experience is forever immortalized in this bottle!

  • Fragrant with citrus-peppery aromatics on the nose. Sipped — crisp notes of lemons and “kum pei” sweet tangerine peels (柑皮) first glide through the mouth and develop into a soft floral kick of pink berries. The sweet nuttiness of vanilla and “naam buk hang” Chinese almonds (南北杏) coat the palate before leading to a finishing flavor of classic spices comprised of coriander seed, green cardamom and of course, “kum cho” Chinese liquorice root (甘草).

Calamansi Gin.

  • The birth of this gin actually started from a collaboration with Ping Kee Copperware. As one of the few remaining coppersmiths in Hong Kong who create exquisite pieces using traditional hand-hammering techniques, some of Ping Kee's most famous works were with legendary martial arts icon Bruce Lee, for whom they fashioned weapons during filming.

Ping Kee worked with us to revamp a 10-liter still used for testing purposes. With over 80 years of experience, this was a first even for them, as distillation was never a significant part of Hong Kong's history. With no apprentices to continue their legacy, it was an honor to have worked next to these two sifu or Masters, before their grand retirement.

By some stroke of fate — on the day we went to pick up our finished still, we decided to have lunch near the Ping Kee shop (located on a humble street in Yau Ma Tei) and discovered the Calamansi (also known as cheng gut 青桔 or sei gwai gut 四季桔) hidden among the condiments in our bowl of laksa. Immediately attracted to the bright and zesty aroma from this tiny South East Asian fruit, we did a quick google search, found that Hong Kong grew its own variety and the rest was history!

  • There is much more to this city than meets the eye. From hidden talents to under-appreciated produce, Hong Kong has a wealth of treasures waiting to be discovered and we hope you can catch a glimpse of it through this gin.

Making a Calamansi Gin was never part of the plan, but inspiration can be found in the most unexpected places, hidden within the everyday moments of life.

  • Characteristically calamansi on the nose — bright, crisp and zesty. When sipped, refreshing notes of citrus develop into a soft undertone of juniper berries, before finishing with a lingering flavor of spruce tips for a layered citrus flavor profile.

five flowers tea gin.

  • This gin is a homage to the cultural heritage of Hong Kong and draws inspiration from mm faa cha or "Five Flowers Herbal Tea" — a powerful healing drink with a long-standing history in our city.

In collaboration with the renowned mixologist Antonio Lai (the mastermind behind Asia's 50 Best Bars Quinary, Room 309 and many more), this project first began as a Limited Edition gin to provide healing and comfort during the uncertain times of the pandemic. It subsequently evolved into an initiative to conserve the essence of Hong Kong's herbal tea shops — once popular social hubs in the 1950s and 1960s, akin to bars and coffee shops today.

While the dwindling number of herbal tea shops is an unfortunate reality, we hope to keep their legacy alive through gin, envisioning a future where people will still be able to savor and appreciate the cultural significance of Five Flowers Tea for many more generations to come!

  • This gin embodies the importance of honoring ancient traditions that root us, while still exercising creativity to keep up with modern times.

It also serves as a reminder to ourselves that reinterpreting existing things from a unique angle may lead to new surprises!

  • Herbal, earthy and soothing. On the nose, a herbal bouquet of chrysanthemum “guk faa” (菊花) tempts you in for an inviting sip. On the palate, sweet notes of frangipani “gai dan faa” (雞蛋花) and self-heal “haa fu cho” (夏枯草) linger before transitioning into earthy, tangy notes of honeysuckle “kum ngan faa” (金銀花) and silk cotton “mook meen faa” (木棉花).
