The Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong has always been a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. It is a cherished tradition where families and friends come together to appreciate the full moon, indulge in delectable mooncakes, and of course, create lasting memories.

In light of this, we collaborated with Conrad Hong Kong to create an exquisite mooncake set that captured the essence of this festival. A treat for the taste buds and a feast for the eyes, the set was meticulously designed to feature gin-infused mooncakes along with the timeless Beiwei Kaishu calligraphy of Master Yeung Kai.

Mooncakes By Chef Tony Wan Chung-Yiu

Showcasing the culinary expertise of executive chef Tony Wan Chung-Yiu of renowned Cantonese restaurant Golden Leaf, the box featured four pieces of mooncakes in two distinctive flavors: Creamed Egg Yolk with Gin and Red Bean Paste with Mandarin Peels.

For the former, Two Moons' very own Calamansi Gin was infused into the creamy egg custard filling, adding an unmistakable citrus gin note to create a delightful twist to the silky pastry. On the other hand, the latter offered a more classic flavor profile, but with an added twist of aged Mandarin peels to cut through the traditional sweetness.

Two mini bottles of Two Moons Signature Dry Gin and Calamansi Gin were also presented in the set to complement the mooncakes, providing the perfect opportunity to savor our gins alongside these festive treats, creating a truly delightful pairing.

Local Heritage

Apprenticed to Beiwei Kaishu master Au Kin Kung, our box featured the beautiful calligraphy of Master Yeung Kai (82), who has devoted his life to this art.

Keep your eyes peeled, because this type of calligraphy is featured all around Hong Kong in the form of neon signs, “lucky banners” and even business shopfronts. With his dynamic work shaping the streets of Hong Kong for decades, he has become a unique form of cultural heritage in the city!
